Hi Polite One: I work for a gigantic company many hate. When people hear the name, the response is always negative and on occasion, violent. I joined a country club recently and at a new member event I was asked the dreaded question “what do you do?” I said, “well, you know this and that”. The new members thought I was a gangster and made a hasty retreat. What is the politest way not to answer this question?
