Red Carpet Attire: Two Premieres

Attire for grand events like movie premieres. Red Carpet attire

Attire choices for grand events are never easy to gauge.  Fold into that drama a movie premiere event for all involved.  Yikes!  Here are two examples of Red-Carpet appearances.

What to Wear to Movie Premieres in CA?

Dear Polite One,

My husband has a small part in an Oliver Stone movie, and we are invited to the premier.  Is it okay to wear a dressy black, backless jumpsuit or should I simply stick to the little black dress?

Thanks for your help,

Dressing Up

Dear Dressing Up,

Your idea sounds great, especially if it is in the same formality as the ‘little black dress’.

If you can share some pictures of the event, I would love to post them.  You wouldn’t believe how many questions I receive from others concerning this and pictures help.

Proper attire for a movie premiere.
Dear Polite One,

This wonderful young lady and her husband were lucky enough to obtain tickets to the movie premiere of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in CA. She was concerned about her attire. Who wouldn't be?  Attire for these premieres can be shirts and jeans to evening gowns! So, we decided on this little black dress. It was perfect!

The best surprise was meeting Johnny Depp, who as it turns out is as nice as he seems.

Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us.

If you choose to use Mrs., you will use her first name and last name: Mrs. Jane Brown. However, Ms. is the most common title for women these days, because marital status does not define any of us. How to handle impolite friends?

What is friend etiquette? Hello Polite One, Have two friends who fight because one is jealous of the other.  Both put me in the middle because I'm friends with both of them.  It's frustrating!  I still want to be friends with both, but I'm tired of the fighting.  Neither is right, but neither is wrong.  It's just wrong to want me to fix their problems.  What is the friend etiquette here?  And how to deal with my friends? Pulled Apart by Friends Dear Pulled Apart by Friends, It may be best to change the rules all of you have been playing by in the past.  There is nothing wrong with telling them not to put you in the middle. Inform both that you want to be friends with each of them, but that you don't want to hear anything negative about the other. Be firm that you won't take sides. This way you can be friends with both and not be viewed as taking sides. Regards, The Polite One She Hurts My Feelings! Dear Polite One, ...
